Pembroke – John Byron Shannon, 74, passed away on January 15, 2015. Jack was born to Byron and Louise (Pulk) Shannon on August 31, 1940 in Lubec. He attended school in Pembroke where he spent his childhood until moving to Connecticut where he began his career with Pratt and Whitney. Jack spent over 43 years with the company before retiring to Pembroke. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking and just spending time at his camp on Pennamaquan River. Jack was a lifetime member of both the Calais Rod & Gun Club and the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Grange in Pembroke and the Royal Order of Moose in Marlborough, CT for many years. Jack will be sadly missed by his three children, Dale Shannon and his wife Leisa of Pembroke, Diane Shannon and her husband Fuad Abu-Dail of Clifton, NJ and Dennis Shannon of VA; eleven grandchildren; four great granddaughters and many friends near and far. He was predeceased by his parents. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Clarkside Cemetery in Pembroke.
