Baileyville – Joyce Marie Dwelley, 78, passed Tuesday, October 8, 2019, surrounded by family at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Joyce was born in Baileyville on April 9, 1941, daughter of Royce and Wilfrid (Seamans) Robinson.
After graduating from Woodland High School, Class of 1959, Joyce married Barry Dwelley. Together they traveled while Barry was serving in the Air Force. Joyce and Barry eventually returned to Baileyville where Joyce started working at Ware Knitters while continuing her education, becoming a Medical Secretary. She started her career first with Dr. Sears in Baileyville and then with Dr. Simmons in Calais, retiring from Calais Regional Hospital. Upon her retirement, Barry and Joyce started to winter in Brooksville, FL. Joyce enjoyed camping, miniature golf, going for ice cream, and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband Barry; a grandson Matthew; and two brothers, Jerry and Michael Robinson. Surviving are her two daughters, Valerie Kilby and husband Carroll of Dennysville, and Holly Lewis and husband David of East Waterboro; two grandchildren, Joshua Lewis of Limerick and Ashley Durand of Dennysville; her special friend and companion, Larry Mahar of Baring; a sister, Gloria Burtt and husband Mark of Milford; and many aunts, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at the funeral home 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19. Burial will follow in Princeton Cemetery.
