Judith Kelly

Eastport - Judith Kelly, 95, passed away October 19, 2021 at Grace Home in Harrington. She was born in Malden, MA on January 24, 1926, daughter of Gerald and Geraldine (Finch) McGarvey.

Judith graduated from Shead Memorial High School in 1943. Marrying in 1945, she lived in Manchester, NH, raising 4 daughters, working in textile mills then for many years as an electronics technician. Judy returned to Eastport in 1977 where she worked at Havey & Wilson, then Passamaquoddy Electronics until retirement. She later lived with her daughter Georgia in New Haven, CT and Charlotte, NC, before returning to Maine in 2006. Church was a central part of Judy’s life and she was very active in it, teaching Sunday School and helping with youth groups and Girl Scouts. From childhood she took joy in art, painting throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by two daughters, Dawn Bissonnette and Georgia Maltezos; brothers Gerald and William McGarvey, and sister Mary Brown; niece Larkin McGarvey.

She is survived by daughters Lynda Levesque and husband Richard of Nashua, NH, and Bethany Small and husband Loring of Eastport and Severna Park, MD; grandchildren Angela Taylor, Sarah Garner, Danielle Small and Loring Small; 4 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; sister Louise Mitchell of Henniker, NH, brother Jon McGarvey and wife Beverly of Hudson, sister-in-law Meg McGarvey of Eastport; many loved nephews, nieces and cousins.

Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Eastport. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
