Eastport – Julia Blanche (Taylor) Suddy, 80, passed quietly Sunday morning, October 24, 2021. She was born in Eastport on June 16th, 1941, to Stencen and Gertrude (Calder) Taylor.
Julia married Willard Suddy in 1956, raising two children in Eastport. Julia worked for 35 years in the Eastport School Department as their head cook from 1973 to 2007. She loved feeding and seeing all the kids.
Julia enjoyed spending time with family, but most of all, she loved the holidays, and cooking huge meals for her loved ones. Willard and Julia spent their summers camping with friends and their grandchildren. She always enjoyed teatime with her best friend Katherine Cook, and cookouts and fires at Sherry and Terry Bowman’s. She often spoke of her trip of a lifetime when she traveled to Nashville and Dollywood with her husband, daughter, and son-in-law.
In addition to her parents, Julia was predeceased by her two brothers Morris Taylor and Stencen Taylor Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Willard Suddy Sr.; her sister Gertrude (Taylor) Pulk; her children Alice (Suddy) and her husband Wayne Lingley, and Willard Suddy Jr and companion Vikki Mitchell; three grandchildren Kristy (Lingley) and her husband Brett Crawford, Willard Suddy III and companion Holly Smith and Judy Suddy. Eight great grandchildren, Aleksa, Jenna, Kayden, Willard IV, Audrey, Noah Jr., Gabe, and Liam, a very special niece she thought of as a daughter, Sherry (Pulk) Bowman, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 1:00pm at Bayside Cemetery, Eastport, followed by a celebration of her life with tea and sweets, at the Cornerstone Church, 112 County Rd., Eastport. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Willard Suddy, 62 County Rd., Eastport, to help offset funeral expenses.
