CHARLOTTE – Justin Francis Chick, 19, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Justin was born in Calais on June 29, 1994 to Wayne and Dawn (Sirois) Chick. He grew up in Charlotte where he attended Charlotte Elementary School then graduated from Calais High School, class of 2013. Justin was a wonderful son, brother and friend with a big heart, an infectious smile and a great sense of humor. He loved working on cars and was planning to begin the automotive technology’s program at Washington County Community College just days after his passing. Anything with a motor was interesting to Justin, he loved riding snowmobiles in the winter, four wheelers in the summer or just watching you tube videos of trucks and ATV stunts. He would sometimes sit in his car and listen to music, particularly old time rock and roll or the Beatles with the bass maxed so his parents could hear the windows in the house shake. He had a great love for animals; his parents have fond memories of walking him to the neighbors’ farms as a child where he would feed cows or pet the goats. Justin’s friends were a huge part of his life; he loved just hanging out and will forever be remembered by his voluminous facial expressions. He was able to give the gift of life to so many others as Justin was an organ donor by choice. He was predeceased in death by his grandfather, Joseph Sirois; grandparents, Arnold and Frances Chick; cousin, Michael Beaulieu and uncles, Dale Chick and Douglas Leeman. Survivors include his parents, Wayne and Dawn Chick; brother, Joshua Berube of Charlotte; Grandmother, Dorothy Sirois of Calais; aunts Paula Cunningham and her husband Chris of Port St. Lucy, FL, Nancy Steele of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Denise McLellan and her husband Andrew, Deborah Beaulieu, all of Presque Isle, Donna Jones and her husband Tim of Caribou and Patricia Gilreath and her husband Joe of Brunswick, GA; uncle Jeffrey Chick of Machiasport; cousins Ed and Jo-Ellen Leeman of Calais, Joel and Jordan Leeman, Craig and Andrew Cunningham, Danielle Brewer, Tracey Levesque, Tonya Jones, Angela Pelletier, Heather Beaulieu and Zachary, Patrick and Olivia Gilreath; his beloved canine companion, Cyrus and many friends and extended family. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 29th at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais.
