Kathleen C. Howland

November 9, 1922 — April 22, 2023

Baileyville

Kathleen Christie (Dudley) Howland went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 22, 2023 after residing at Marshall’s Rehab and Nursing Home Facility in Machias.  Kay was the only child of Verd and Christie Dudley on Nov. 9, 1922 in Baileyville.  She lived 100 beautiful years.

She graduated from Woodland High School with honors.  Although she had no siblings, she married into the large family of Uriah and Mary Howland of Princeton, Me.  Her marriage to their son Lloyd took her to Portland, Me., where her first child, Marie was born in 1942.  Marie became her companion when Lloyd was drafted into WWII where he fought in five major battles.

After the war, their life together was renewed in Washington County.  Three more children were born to them after they moved to Princeton, Ronnie, Judy and Kevin.  Kay was devoted to raising her children.  In 2001, she was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd while living in Hancock, Me.  Her family helped her move and get settled in Baileyville.

She is survived by her 4 children, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Kay had great musical interests, talent, and many musical friends.  She played the bass guitar and sang Country Western music.  A known celebrity, vacationing in Grand Lake Stream, invited her to Nashville, TN.  She turned it down because she valued her commitment to her family more.  She performed with others locally which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Our family would like to thanks Marshall’s for the excellent care Kay received while she was there.

A graveside service will be held at the Princeton Cemetery on June 10th at 1:00P.M.  Following the service, friends are invited to attend a celebration of Kay’s life.  Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
