Kathleen I Stevens

Waterboro & Eastport – Kathleen I. Stevens, 63, passed away April 12, 2009 surrounded by her beloved family. Kathleen was born in Eastport on May 9, 1945, the daughter of the late Ford and Elsie (Besse) Matthews. She lived and worked in southern Maine for many years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Kathleen’s hobbies were cooking and sharing her favorite recipes, playing Bingo, and cross-stitching. She loved returning to Eastport for the 4th of July celebration and family events. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by a brother, James Stanhope; and a sister, Helen Small. Surviving are her devoted husband of 36 years, Donald Stevens; her five children, Mary Brillard and her husband Rick of Dover, NH, Sheila Small of Eastport, Vicki Turner and her partner Kerry Hammond of Somersworth, NH, Loring Small and his wife Beth of Severna Park, MD, and Polly Sullivan and her husband Jeff of Eastport; her nine grandchildren whom she adored dearly, Vicki Jean, Danielle, Kristopher, Van, Loring Ryan, Emily, Cassidy, Katlyn and Holly; one great-grandson, Christian; her brother, Loring Stanhope and his wife Rebecca of Baring; her sister, Hilda Stevens of Eastport; and many nieces and nephews.
