Baileyville – Kelly Jean McIver, 40, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 3, 2021. Kelly was born in Brunswick on May 1, 1980, daughter of Larry and Rhonda (Sylvia) McIver.
After graduating from Woodland High School, Class of 1998, Kelly went on to study Culinary Art at Washington County Community College. She worked as a cook for local restaurants until enlisting in the U.S. Army, being stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Following her service, Kelly returned home and continued to work as a cook until following her passion, working with horses. She graduated from the Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School and worked as a Farrier plus giving riding lessons. Kelly enjoyed crocheting, paint pouring, horseback riding and cooking. She will be fondly remembered for being a fun-loving loyal friend with a heart of gold.
Kelly was predeceased by her son, William Wade Philip McIver on January 27, 2021. Surviving are her parents, Larry and Rhonda McIver of Baileyille; her children, Haley James of Ellsworth, Lilyana Quigley of Old Town, and two stepdaughters, Amanda and Ashley Bragg of Ellsworth; and some very special aunts and uncles and many cousins; and many great friends.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. CDC guidelines such as masks and social distancing are required for all attendees.
