Laura Barbara Wheaton

GRAND LAKE STREAM - Laura Barbara (Hoar) Wheaton died suddenly at her winter residence, Sunbury Village in Bangor January 15, 2013. She was born December 9, 1928 in St. Stephen, NB daughter of Paul B. and Edith M. (Brown) Hoar.
She graduated from Husson College in 1950 with a Bachelor's degree in education and promptly married noted canoe builder Kenneth Wheaton.
Together they raised a family and carried on the family business of the Pine Tree Store in Grand Lake Stream. Laura Barbara had a lifelong love of music and nature.
Laura Barbara was predeceased by her husband Kenneth in 2003. She is survived by her son Chris Wheaton and wife Lindsay of Grand Lake Stream, daughter Susan and husband Mac of Lexington, grandchildren Neal, Ali, Chad and Kenny, and great grandchildren Sebastian and Wesley. A memorial service will be held in Grand Lake Stream in the spring.
