Obituary for Lawrence Edward Greenlaw

CALAIS – Lawrence Edward Greenlaw, 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on November 2, 1932 in Woodland to William and Margaret (Robb) Greenlaw. He attended local schools and graduating from St. Croix High School class of 1950. In 1961 he married his wife, Lois, in Woodland with whom he moved to Calais to raise their family. Larry retired from Georgia Pacific in 1995 after 45 years of employment, where he also served as trustee for the union. He was a member of The Spednic Club in Baileyville for many years and a past member of both The St. Stephen Golf Club and St. Criox Bowling Club. He was a communicant of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha R.C. Church in Calais. Larry was a quiet man who enjoyed the company of his family, he will be sadly missed. In addition to his parents Larry was predeceased by his loving wife of over 48 years Lois Greenlaw. He is survived by his son, Bill Greenlaw and his wife Alicia; two grandsons, Jerry and Cameron Harmon and three sisters-in-law Mabel Foster and her husband Robert, Pauline McConvey and Marion Brown; and a brother-in-law Melvin Greenlaw, all of Calais. A committal service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 24th at Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville with Father James Plourde officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
