Baileyville – Leo Leroy Corbett, 69, died peacefully Thursday, June 1, 2006 at a Calais hospital surrounded by his family. He was born November 25, 1936, the son of the late Ted and Beulah Corbett of Princeton. Leo worked for Georgia Pacific Corporation for 27 years until his retirement in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time at his camp on the East Machias River, hunting and fishing with family and friends, bowling, and trapping. Leo was also known for his dedication to the Boston Red Sox. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Bobby Bonness. Leo is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ivane; three daughters, Yvonne Corbett of Lee, Bridgette Murray of Bangor, and Melissa Maxwell and her husband Nathan of Alexander; a brother Richard and his wife Diane of Grand Lake Stream; sisters, Janice Hayward and husband Leo of Baileyville, Joan Crowe and Danny of New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Guylene and husband Ash of Holden; a brother-in-law Billy Bonness of Newfoundland; very special grandchildren, Todd Yates and Erica of Lee, Cassie Yates of Lee, Jacob Murray of Bangor, and Prue Maxwell of Alexander; a very special great-granddaughter Rhylee Jean Yates of Lee; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends, including close friends Allen Guptill, Leo Hayward, and Loring Stanhope. He will also be sadly missed by his dog, Sophie. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 7 at the Plantation 21 Cemetery in Princeton with Pastor Dana Kadey officiating.
