Calais – Leonard George Lloyd Jr., 60, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at Calais Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Lenny was born in Rumford on February 25, 1958, son of the late Leonard and Jo Ann (Legere) Lloyd.
After graduating from Rumford High School, Class of 1976, Lenny worked various jobs until relocating to Calais, where he started his career with Ellsworth Building Supply on May 17, 1985. Lenny earned his Associates Degree in Buildings and Trade from Washington County Community College and was currently working as the Branch Manager for E.B.S. in Calais. On August 13, 2005, he married his love, Katharine Hitchings. An avid outdoorsman, Lenny loved hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, cooking, but above all else, spending time with his family.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Katharine Lloyd; his children, Erik Lloyd and wife Danielle of Gray, Robyn Leighton and husband Justin of Baileyville, Stephen Vose and wife Anita of Augusta, and Matthew Vose and companion Kate Connor of Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Madyson, Andrew, Dylan, Samantha, Ethan, Aiden, Brianna and Brayden; four sisters, Gayle Shurtleff and husband Edward of Rumford, Bette Thibeault and husband Bruce of Mexico, Alice McKenna and husband Bernard of Mexico, and Kathleen Theriault and husband David of Hartford; a brother, Albert Lloyd and companion Kristin Haase of Rumford; brother-in-law David Hitchings and wife Gloria of North Fort Myers, FL; many nieces and nephews; and numerous dear close friends.
Visiting hours will be held 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Calais Ave, Calais. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lenny's name may be made to Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, PO Box 898, Calais, ME 04619.
