We express our deepest condolences on the passing of Leonard A. Maggiani, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Leonard was a man of many talents and passions whose touched those around him in profound ways.

Born on September 21, 1964, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Leonard's journey led him to various corners of the country, shaping him into the remarkable individual he was. He graduated from high school in 1983 and soon found his calling as a wilderness guide in Oregon. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were evident as he immersed himself in nature's beauty while guiding others through the wilderness.

In 1989, Leonard made a significant decision to leave Oregon temporarily to assist with the family business in Maine – LA Sardina Loca. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and he took pride in contributing to the family's legacy. After returning to Oregon in 1994 with his own family, Leonard transitioned into a new role as a wildland firefighter in California. His bravery and commitment to protecting nature were commendable.

In 1995, having served admirably as a wildland firefighter, Leonard retired and returned once again to Maine to carry forward the family's heritage. Throughout his various endeavors, Leonard remained kind-hearted and caring towards all those he encountered. His willingness to lend a helping hand endeared him to many.

Leonard had a profound love for his family, especially his grandkids, whom he adored spending time with. His legacy lives on through his surviving loved ones: his daughter Journey Maggiani, step-daughter Rose Small, step-granddaughter Brooklyn Small, grandson McKeyan Francis, and granddaughters Maliya Francis and Savayah Francis. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Nelligan and niece Sarah Nelligan.

In addition to his family, Leonard leaves behind close friends Eldora Maggiani and Reginald Drew, who shared numerous cherished moments with him over the years.

An individual of diverse interests, Leonard found joy in cooking delicious meals for his loved ones. Whether it was camping under the stars or enjoying a BBQ outdoors, he embraced every moment spent in nature. From four-wheeling adventures to snowboarding excursions in Oregon and surfing escapades while residing in California, Leonard's zest for life was truly inspiring.

Leonard A. Maggiani will be remembered fondly for his warm smile, generous spirit, and passion for living life to the fullest. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy of love and kindness lives on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
