Robbinston – Lesley G. Carson, 92, passed away with his family by his side on May 7, 2009 at Seaside Nursing Home in Portland. Lesley was born in Robbinston on May 7, 1917, son of the late Harry and Bernice Carson. During the Great Depression, Lesley worked in the local tuna plants, sardine factories, making wreaths and cutting Christmas trees. He worked as a foreman at the Riviera Factory in Eastport and as a self employed carpenter for 40 years. Lesley was a member of the Perry Congregational Church where he loved to volunteer his time. He enjoyed being around people, fishing, gardening, flowers, and giving a helping hand where needed. In addition to his parents, Lesley was predeceased by his loving wife, Charlotte (Corbett) Carson; a sister and several brothers. Surviving are his three children, Bernard Carson and his wife Nancy, Barbara Armour, and Sharon Gendron and her husband Daniel; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
