Calais – Lila May Tracy, 71, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 08, 2012 surrounded by her family. Lila was born in Calais on January 24, 1940, daughter of the late Arnold and Hazel (Peed) Young. She attended the Calais area schools and in August of 1976, married John “Bud” Tracy. Along with her husband, Lila owned and operated Portside Inn in Calais for over 15 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #3 in Calais and enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, fishing and camping. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bud; and her special friend Donald Marchese. Surviving are her four children, Marian McGouldrick, Joan Brooks, Stuart Murphy, and Daniel Murphy and his wife Melissa; a sister Joan Mahar and her husband Victor; and two brothers, Stanley Young and his wife Vera and Edward Young and his wife Ella, all of Calais; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Aaron, Jeremy, Joshua, Keith, Kevin, Kristofor and Krystal; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her family, Lila will be missed by numerous friends. A celebration of Lila’s life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery.
