Linda Jeanne Meader passed to the realm of the ancestors Friday, September 22, 2023.
Linda was born the second child of Bernard Meader Sr. and Nina M. Meader(Rogers) on March 4,1959. She grew up in Byfield Massachusetts and attended Triton high school.
Linda was a proud Passamaquoddy woman. She attended the University Of New Mexico School of American Indian Arts and graduated as valedictorian of her class. She then returned to Motahkmikuk and led a charge on the reform of tribal politics, worked in education, and did her best to better the lives of the tribe.
She treated those around her as family, and was mother-sister-auntie-grandmother to all. She was well know for her quick wit and sense of humor, boisterous presence, and ever outspoken way of standing for what she believed was right. Her home was always a place of shelter to those in need, be it a hot meal, a cup of coffee and smoke, or a place to come and talk.
She is predeceased by her parents, Bernie and Nina, her sister Laura, and brothers Bernie Jr. and Bruce. She is survived by her son Ryan, daughter Bridgette and her husband Jesse, 2 granddaughters Aurora and Miah, brothers Kirk and Stan, along with many self-proclaimed adopted children and grandchildren as well as many countless nieces and nephews.
