Calais – Lois Eileen Greenlaw, 72, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009 at a Bangor hospital with her family by her side. Lois was born in Calais on October 11, 1937, daughter of the late Parker and Addie (Pike) Greenlaw. She graduated from Calais Memorial High School, Class of 1956. After high school she worked at the lunch counter at Fishman’s Department Store, where she met her love Lawrence Greenlaw. They were married on August 27, 1961. Lois also was employed at Hathaway’s Shirt Factory and in later years as a waitress for Carmen’s Hometown Pizzeria. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Calais. Lois enjoyed playing slot machines, following her son’s tennis team, and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Francis Greenlaw. Surviving are her loving husband of 48 years, Lawrence Greenlaw; her son William Greenlaw of Calais and his fiancé Alicia Willis of Eddington; siblings Melvin Greenlaw, Pauline McConvey, Marion Brown, and Mabel Foster and her husband Robert, all of Calais; two grandchildren, Jerry and Cameron Harmon; dear friend Mildred Burgess of Calais; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville.
