Lubec – Lois Pearl Laslie, 86, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at a Penobscot nursing home. Lois was born in Trescott, December 4, 1919, daughter of the late Eugene and Eva (Wilcox) Mahar. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Lubec, a former member of the Lubec Grange, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and gardening. Lois was predeceased by her husband, James “Buster” Laslie, and a brother, Philip Mahar. Surviving are her two children, Peggy Griffin and husband Paul of Fairfield, and John Laslie and wife Susan of Chicago, IL; a sister, Eva Kelley of Fla.; a brother, John Mahar and wife Irene of Conn.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006 in Green Acres Cemetery, Lubec, with Rev. Edwin Randall officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois’ memory may be made to the Lubec Memorial Library, 55 Water St., Lubec, ME 04652.
