Indian Township – Lorraine Marie Gabriel, 65, passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 9, 2014. She was born in Calais on July 24, 1949, daughter of George Stevens Sr. and Rita Ranco. Lorraine will be remembered as a loving woman who always wore a smile, would light up the darkest of rooms and went out of her way to do for others. She always looked her best, no matter what the occasion; Lorraine was meticulous with her hair and makeup. She loved dancing and singing, and made time for the little things in life, reading, making fudge, watching Law & Order and Judge Judy or spending time with her family at camp on Chain Lake. Her patient personality is likely why children and adults alike were drawn to her. Lorraine graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Portland in 1968 and soon after moved home to raise her family.
She will be sadly missed by her four children, Bethany Tomah, Ryan Gabriel, Nakoma Gabriel, all of Indian Township and Nikia Campbell and her husband Darin of Princeton; fourteen grandchildren, Tiffany, Danielle, Laticia, Glenn, Darian, Tre, Malleah, Sylvia, Subusis, Ryan, Addriene, Noah, Kelsey and Jaden; five great grandchildren, Liam, Brandon, Gavyn, Akerah and Rita; two sisters, Sherly Cogswell of Pleasant Point and Elona Muwin of Indian Township; a brother, Mark Stevens of Indian Township and her Godson, Patrick Sabattus of Indian Township. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her fiancé, Jack, her daughter, Tiffany Leigh and son, Mark Allen.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13th until 10:00 a.m., Monday at Elderly Meal Site, Route 1, Indian Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 15th at St. Ann R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point by Father Rob Lupo. Service by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
