Calais – Babe Greenlaw, 75, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 3, 2008. Babe was born on October 10, 1932 to Louie P. and Mary (Noble) Greenlaw. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Babe was employed at Georgia Pacific Paper Mill for 43 years. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, and a member of the American Legion Sherman Bros. Post #3, and the National Rifle Association. Babe was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Earl (Chipe) Greenlaw. Babe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth (Coffey) Greenlaw; a son, Robert Greenlaw and his wife Gayle of Calais; a daughter, Kathryn Godard and her husband Michael of Illinois; and five grandchildren, Grant and Lance Godard and Rachelle, Kati and Nathan Lutz; two sisters, Frances Gayton and her husband Max of Calais, and Jean Polmeroy and her husband Bob of Calais; two brothers, Allan Greenlaw of Alexander, and Myron Greenlaw and his wife Delores of Portland; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 Saturday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Frank Morin 11 a.m. Monday at the First Congregational Church on Calais Ave. A spring burial will take place in Calais Cemetery.
