Louise Alberta Smith

Calais – Louise A. Smith, 92, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at New Horizon’s in Calais. Louise was born in St. George, N.B. Canada on Feb. 20, 1917, daughter of the late Ronald and Margaret (McDougall) Campbell. She was a member of the Peoples United Methodist Church in Baileyville. Louise loved to read, tend to her flower gardens, cooking and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Smith; a son, Richard Carl Smith; sisters, Florence, Carolyn, Edith and Grace; and a brother, Charles. Louise is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Gillis and her husband David of Calais and Judith Murphy of Prattsville, AL; her son, Gerald Smith and his wife Brenda of Mapleton; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will take place in Round Pond Cemetery, Charlotte. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Homes, Calais & Eastport.
