Pleasant Point – Majik Wocawson Dute Francis, 23, left mother earth too early on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Majik was born in Machias on August 14, 1992, son of Dute and Cyril Francis. He graduated from Shead High School, Class of 2010, and went to welding school in Chicago through the National Iron Worker’s Association. Majik returned home and worked various seasonal jobs. He practiced and took great pride in his traditional culture and ceremonies with the Passamaquoddy tribe. Majik loved spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered for being genuine, down to earth, gentle, and always considering others before himself. On January 21, 2015, Majik became the proud father of Felix whom he loved and adored dearly.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Eugene Francis; and his canine companion Honey. Surviving are his son Felix; companion Samara McLaughlin; his loving parents, Dute and Cyril Francis; sister Jess Francis and companion Nate Hamburger; brother Dylan Francis and companion Kim Dominguez-Miller; maternal grandmother Mary Lorraine Francis; paternal grandparents David and Marion Francis; nephew Tobias Francis; niece Zyla Belle Francis; dear friend Adam Bailey; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to express deep gratitude for the overwhelming support from throughout the state provided to them.
Visiting hours will be held at his parent’s home, 4 Wapap Rd., Pleasant Point beginning 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1. A Remembrance Ceremonial Service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 in the gymnasium at Beatrice Rafferty School, Bayview Drive, Pleasant Point.
