Perry – Margaret Elizabeth Quinn, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Margaret was born in Lubec on April 13, 1929, daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Butler) Cox. She attended school in Lubec and worked in the local sardine factories until she married Edgar Quinn. Margaret raised her five children and then worked at the boarding home in Eastport. Along with her husband Edgar, they ran their own beef cattle farm.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Edgar; two daughters, Carolyn Francis and Shirley Homan; a son Philip Quinn; and two grandsons, Stanley and Chester; and a son-in-law, James Degen. Surviving are her three children, Patricia Degen of Poland, Chester Quinn of Calais; and Richard Quinn of Perry; a brother Ralph Cox of Meriden, CT; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Margaret’s life was held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Perry Bible Fellowship, Route 1, Perry. Burial followed in Clarkside Cemetery, Pembroke. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
