Obituary for Marion Elaine Welton

Baileyville – Marion Elaine Welton, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. Marion was born in Baileyville on November 11, 1933, daughter of the late Walter and Isabel (Blackmore) Welton. After graduating from Baxter State School for the Deaf in Portland, she returned home and started her career with Wareknitters, retiring with 33 years of service. Marion was a member of People’s United Methodist Church in Baileyville and enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, and was an avid animal lover, especially cats.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Donald Welton. Surviving are her sister Evelyn “Spot” Thornton; two nieces, Candy Robb, and Terri Wormell and her husband Paul, all of Baileyville; grand nieces and grand nephews, Tony Robb and wife Carissa of Westbrook, Josh Thornton of Calais, Angela Robb and companion Jessica Paar of Key West, FL, Tiffany Wormell and fiancé Darren Gilman of Baileyville, and Todd Wormell of Baileyville; great-nephew Logan Gilman; and great-nieces Kennedy Robb, Breanna and Taylor Gilman, and Mackenzie Roberts; and many extended family and dear friends.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Woodland Cemetery in Baileyville with Pastor Randall Chretien officiating. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
