Obituary for Mary P Harmon

Princeton – Mary P. Harmon, 84, died on March 8, 2010 at her home with her family by her side. Mary was born in Whitneyville on March 25, 1925 to William and Mary (Carney) Pennell. She grew up in Whitneyville and later moved to Princeton with her husband, Irving F. Harmon Jr. who she married on June 24, 1950. She worked for a short time as a teacher then went on to work as assistant manager of St. Croix Federal Credit Union for 25 years. In addition to her parents and husband Mary was predeceased by 2 brothers William Pennell and his wife Glenrose, and John Pennell; a sister, Alice Wakefield and her husband Charles. Surviving are Mary’s son, John Harmon and his wife Wendy of Princeton; granddaughter, Holly Harmon of Hermon; two step-grandsons, Riley Pratt and Nick Barnett; one sister-in-law, Frances Vane and her husband Carl of Whitneyville; one niece and one nephew; her caregiver Sylvia MacDougall and many friends, Jeff and Martha Pratt, Candy and Kenny Bayliss of FL, Linda Croman and Jill Hamilton to name a few; and Mary’s many feline companions that she loved dearly. A graveside service will be held at Whitneyville Cemetery on Saturday, March 13th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary’s memory to The American Heart Association, 51 US Route 1, Suite ME, Scarborough, ME 04072; Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
