Alexander – Mary Jane Landry, 88, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 after a long illness with family by her side in Alexander at the home of her daughter, Belinda. She was born in Eastport on June 15, 1924, daughter to the late Leo and Eva (Mitchell) Marsh. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Earl Landry, as well as a brother Harry, and sisters Roseann Kowal and Stella Young. Mary, a six-degree granger, is survived by one brother, Earl Marsh; her son Chris Landry; daughters Evarose Fairbrother and her husband Archie, Mary Jean Landry and companion David McLaughlin, and Belinda Burgess and her husband Edward; sisters-in-law Nina Huntley and Barbara Landry; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held in the funeral home 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at the Alexander Cemetery followed by a gathering at the Alexander Grange Hall. Donations can be made in Mary’s memory to the Alexander Fire/EMS, 50 Cooper Rd., Alexander, ME 04694.
