Eastport – Mary Jane Randall, 85, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Eastport Memorial Nursing Home with her family by her side. Jane was born in Eastport on June 8, 1932, the daughter of Norma and Arthur Haddock.
She was a member of Central Congregational Church in Eastport, Pythian Sisters, Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center in Eastport. Known for her beautiful voice, Jane was a very vocal member of the Sunrise Serenaders.
In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her mother in 1999, father in 1963, her first husband and father of her children, Clayton Randall in 1969, her second husband Harry Knowlton in 2010, a sister Barbara in 1979, brothers Billy in 1945, Arthur in 1998, and Merle “Dicky” in 2011, and a step-granddaughter Kasey Vicaire in 2017.
Surviving are her daughter Muriel Cushing and husband Wayne of Pembroke; son Stephen Randall and wife Lillian of Eastport; sister Sandra Kowalski of Calais; brothers Edward Haddock of Calais and Leroy Haddock of Eastport; grandchildren, Beth Riddle and Stephen Randall of Oregon, Dorothea Kierstead Deschaine of Fort Fairfield, and Marc Kierstead of East Providence, RI; great-grandchildren Trevor Deschaine, and Shanea, Katelynn and Kaiden Randall; and a step-grandson Keane Vicaire and wife Linda of Machias and their children Nora and Gavin. Jane will also be missed by her numerous lifelong friends who accompanied Jane on the “50 cent tour” so many times.
Visiting hours will be held 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Mays Funeral Home – Flagg Chapel, 72 High St., Eastport. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at Bayside Cemetery in Eastport.
