Indian Township – Mary Rose “Molly” Socoby, 50, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at her home following a life-long battle with diabetes. Molly was born in Calais on September 7, 1968.
After attending Lee Academy, Molly went on to Washington County Community College to earn her C.N.A. She loved helping others and throughout the years took care of many elders at Indian Township. Molly was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and spending time with family, especially at their camp on Dobsie Lake. Molly was a “social butterfly” and will be remembered for her kindness to others.
Molly was predeceased by her grandparents Helen and Adam Zilenski, and Alice and Peter Dana; a niece Abigail Francis; two aunts Virginia Aymond and Ann Sockabasin; an uncle Thomas Lola and Joe and Connie. Surviving are her companion Bill Thornton of Indian Township; two sons, RJ Levesque of Indian Township, Thomas Libby and wife Diane of Pleasant Point; her parents, Bernadette “Bernie” and Gene Francis of Pleasant Point; grandfather John Stevens of Indian Township; three brothers, Shawn Socoby and wife Patty of Milford, Gene “Zuo” Francis Jr and wife Leeann of Indian Island, and Christopher Francis and wife Kanni of Etna; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Alexsis, Horace III, Noah and Xavier; nieces and nephews, Felicia, Emma, Ben, Hayna, Kirsten and Bella; aunts and uncles, Estella, Justin, Eleanor, Andrea, Tony and Shirley, Genevieve and Roy, Betty and Sappy, Doris and a very special aunt Theresa, thank you for everything you've done for us; her Godfather Allison Lola of Pleasant Point; and numerous friends.
Special thanks to Community Health & Counseling Hospice, especially Patty and Melanie, Savanna with Love Care, Merlin Peter and Carol of Peter Dana Point Health Center for the special attention they gave to our daughter and Sunrise Dialysis in Eastport for their loving care.
Visitation will begin 12 noon Thursday, August 15, 2019 at her home, 480 Peter Dana Point Road, Indian Township, until 1 p.m. Friday, August 16. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Kevin J. Martin 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 16 at St. Ann Church, Peter Dana Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
