Baileyville – Mary Lou Thornton, 76, passed away February 18, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary Lou was born in December 29, 1936 in Clairmont, NH. The daughter of Hazen and Marion (Robb) Bagley, she grew up in Grand Lake Stream and attended James Bright School at Grand Lake Stream. She worked at Leen’s Lodge, Chet’s Camps, Georgia Pacific, and Camp Babcock. Mary Lou was a member of the Spednic Club and the St. Croix RV Wanderer’s Club. She enjoyed Fireside County Music and camping with her RV family, watching softball, basketball and most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Hazen G. Bagley and Marion (Robb) Bagley, she was predeceased by two daughters Annette Marie Santerre Goode and her husband Patrick, and Shelley Marie Thornton. Surviving are her loving husband of 46 years, Royce Irman Thornton; her son Gary Santerre and his wife Becky; granddaughter Holli; grandson Kendall and his companion Felicia; great-grandchildren, Shaylee, Connor, Thomas and Charles; one loving sister, Kathleen Cochran and her husband Lyman; one loving brother George H. Bagley and his wife Michelle; and sisters-in-law Jackie Sprague and Evelyn “Spot” Thornton. She was also loved by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Village Cemetery in Grand Lake Stream and will be announced in the spring.
