Eastport – Maybell Elizabeth (Cheverie) Scott, 91, passed on to her heavenly home Monday, April 20, 2015, departing from the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home. Maybell was born in Perry on February 20, 1924, daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (McPhail) Cheverie.
Maybell lived a full and blessed life. She loved her family as much as her family loved her. Maybell was a sweet and gentle lady who brought joy to everyone that knew her. She will be remembered for her smile, her love for babies and children, nature, flower gardening, music, dance, her talent for beautiful embroidery, and her soft spot for animals and the several stray cats she has taken care of over the years. We will have precious memories in our hearts forever with so much love and so much laughter with Maybell’s “sassy” humor. She taught others to laugh and have fun. Maybell was a huge part of her family’s lives and they will be forever grateful that she loved them.
In addition to her parents, Maybell was predeceased by her husband George R. Scott; her son George H. Scott; sister Ruby Cyganowski; and her brother Sheldon Cheverie. She leaves behind her two daughters and their spouses, Diana and William Boone, and Nancy and Andrew Seeley, all of Eastport; her grandchildren and their spouses, Carl and Danielle Marsh, Scott and Christina Marsh, Sarah and Michael Donahe, Lisa and David McCarthy, and Andrew and Lisa Seeley; her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholetta, Bradley, Cameron, and Cassidy Marsh, Donnie and Lindsey LaViolet, Mika Donahe, Madeleine and Margaret Seeley, Matthew and wife Kylie, Christopher and wife Brianna, Nancy, Lydia, and Alex McCarthy; her great-great grandson Benjamin McCarthy; and her brother Lewis Cheverie and his wife Renee.
