Obituary for Merrill Everett Lank Jr.

Dennysville – Merrill Everett Lank Jr., 64, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011 at his home. Merrill was born in Eastport on August 20, 1946, son of Merrill E. Lank Sr. and Grace (Hotchkiss) Lank. He graduated from Shead Memorial High School, Class of 1965. After graduating, Merrill moved to Connecticut where he worked as a tool and die maker for Pratt & Whitney for several years. Returning to Eastport, he worked as a police officer for the City of Eastport and went to Washington County Community College, receiving his degree in electronics. On July 7, 1987, he married Claire Robinson in Eastport. Merrill held various jobs until his retirement. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, clamming and making wreaths. Merrill was predeceased by his father, Merrill E. Lank Sr. Surviving are his mother, Grace Lank of Bristol, CT; his loving wife Claire Lank of Dennysville;; five children, Frank Lank and his wife Natalie of Perry and their two children Hannah and Ethan Lank, Sheila Soule and her husband Brian of Pembroke, and her daughter Stevey-Rae Mahar, Krystel Putnam and her companion Trampas Powitzky of Sunnyvale, CA, and her two children Kaitlin MacDonald and Haley Putnam, Aaron Lank and his wife Jamie of Pembroke, and their three children, Dynesha, Aaron Jr. and Damien Lank, and Robert Lank of Pennsylvania; his sister Brenda Razee and her husband Rob of Southberry, CT; two brothers, Keith Lank and his wife Linda of Bristol, CT, and Dennis Lank of Bristol, CT; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; numerous friends too many to list; two dear friends from Dennysville Housing, Melanie and Ron Small; and his faithful canine companion Sassy. In keeping with Merrill’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
