Perry – Mildred Ricker, 93, went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2016 in Bangor. Millie was born January 26, 1923 to Peter and Idella (Swift) Adams in Greenbrier, Tennessee on a tobacco farm.
After graduating from high school she went to Nashville to work at Mays Hosiery Mill. While in Nashville Millie met Darlington “Buck” Ricker, which turned into a lifetime together. Buck and Millie were married on May 17,1946 in Portland and eventually relocated to Perry where they would begin an enormous family filled with love for each other and love for the Lord. She was an active member of The Perry Bible Fellowship.
In addition to her parents Millie was predeceased by her husband of more than 60 years, Buck Ricker; two sisters, Adine Buscato and Lotus Swift and six brothers, Mark, Ray, Pat, Peter, Woodrow and James Adams.
She is survived by five children, Del Ricker of Old Orchard, Sandy Pelletier and her husband Richard, Darlington Ricker Jr. and his wife Louise, all of Perry, Dianne Arsenau and her husband Donnie of Gardner and Peter Ricker and his wife Sheila of Perry; a sister, Beatrice Whitley of Leadville, CO; a brother, Billie Joe Adams of Phoenix, AZ; sister-in-law Weltha Adams of Springfield, TN; 31 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 11th at Perry Bible Fellowship Church, Route 1, Perry. Visitation will begin two hours prior at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
