Edmunds – Morris H. Preston, 60, beloved husband of Elizabeth, died unexpectedly on February 23, 2009. He was born on July 12, 1948 in Lubec to Hardy and Ruth Preston. Morris touched the lives of all the people he knew; he was able to put a smile on your face no matter what, a friend to everyone, a great husband and a wonderful father. One of Morris’s biggest enjoyments in life was fishing, he also loved to bake, he was an excellent cook, but most of all he enjoyed his family. Morris was predeceased by his father, Hardy R. Preston; a son, David Preston and a brother, Stephen Preston. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth (Jones) Preston; his mother, Ruth Preston of Edmunds; a daughter, Dawn Preston and fiancée Larry Cox of Edmunds; a son, Morris Preston and wife Rebecca of Calais; 3 Brothers, Calvin Preston and his wife Donna of Dennysville, Dennis Preston and his wife Gail, and George Preston, all of Edumnds; 2 sisters, Juanita Matthews and her husband Larry of Edmunds, and Lydia Preston of Washington State; 6 grand children Sarah, Desiree, Heaven, Naomi, David, and Brenden; several nieces and nephews, including one special nephew Justin Matthews; and his best friend, Butch Smith. Morris will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. All are welcome to share at his memorial service, held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Edmunds Consolidated School, 21 Harrison Rd., Edmunds, with Bill Sawtelle Officiating. The family will hold a private graveside at Morris’s favorite fishing hole in the spring.
