Norman W Doten

Baring – Norman W. Doten, 84, died Thursday, April 05, 2007 at a Calais nursing home. Norman was born in Baring, April 19, 1922, son of the late J. Smith and Winifred (Preston) Doten. He married Kathleen Porter in July, 1943. Norman was a self employed carpenter and drove school bus in Baring for over 35 years. He enjoyed camping, high school basketball, and was an avid Red Sox fan. Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his loving wife, Kathleen; three sisters, Martina Howland, Inez Frost, and Thelma Moreshead; and four brothers, Otis, Albion, Clyde, and Bernard Doten. Surviving are his three children, Ronald Doten and wife Debbie of Baring, Lynda Foster of Baileyville, and Michael Doten of Baring; two sisters, Winifred Elsmore of Meddybemps and Evelyn Johnson of Baring; four grandchildren, Lynn James and husband Tim of Calais, Karen Doten of Calais, Jonathan Foster and wife Charlene of Atco, NJ, and Marikay McMullen and husband Shaun of Lumberton, NJ; four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Vanessa, Caitlin, and Paige; two dear friends, Michael Foster and Kennetha Doten; his canine companion, “Little Guy”; and many nieces and nephews.
