Calais - Paula Jean Clark passed away March 4, 2011 at her home in Calais. She was born February 4, 1971, in Calais to Stan and Judy Clark.
Paula graduated from Calais High School where she excelled playing basketball. After graduation, she spent two years in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. Upon returning from the Navy, Paula received a Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Maine at Machias. Because she still enjoyed the medical field, she pursued an Associate degree in medical technology. Paula started her own personal care business caring for the elderly, later working in the family business at the New Horizons Adult Family Care until being totally disabled in 2006.
Paula was an outstanding cook, who loved trying new recipes from her many cookbooks. In addition to her love for people, Paula loved animals. Her two dogs, Pepper and Princess, were her “children,” whom she loved very much.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother Joe, his wife Jennifer, and their children Jocelyn and Jason, of Gaithersburg, Maryland. In recent years, Paula shared special relationships with her Aunt Jo Ellen and Uncle John Gallant, her Aunt Joan and Uncle Roy Burgess, and her Uncle Ivan Woodside and his wife Gloria. She is survived by many cousins, aunts, and uncles, to include her cousin Jean Wood, her aunt Linda McPhee, her Aunt Sue and Uncle Arnold Clark, and her uncle Phil Clark.
Graveside services will be held at the Calais Cemetery on Thursday, March 10th at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception for family and friends at the home of Stan and Judy Clark immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paula’s memory will gladly be accepted at P.A.W.S. Humane Society, PO Box 182, Calais, ME 04619. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
