Pauline Elizabeth Swain

Pauline Elizabeth Maxwell Swain went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2007, in Calais, Maine, at the age of 86. She was here visiting with her nephew, Councillman James Maxwell, his wife Lorna and children, June and Jim of St. Stephen, N.B. Pauline was born in Old Ridge, NB to Kenneth Maxwell and Allie McLaughlin. Her mother died when she was seven and she was raised in Milltown, NB, by her aunt, Millie Maxwell. She met and married George W. Swain, a U. S. Seabee, stationed in Quoddy Village, Maine. Seeking employment, after the military, the family moved to Houston, Texas. She worked and retired from Sears Roebuck in 1981. She is survived by her sons James Swain and wife Norma, John Swain and wife Laura Lee, grandchildren Elizabeth Swain Jordan, Melissa Swain Hoyt and husband Josh Hoyt, Mark Lee Swain and wife Melinda, Stephanie Swain Cupit, Matthew John Swain, and great grandchildren Garrett Ashton Swain, Taylor Cupit, Lauren Nicole Hoyt and Madison Lee Swain, all of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (1999), her two brothers, Durrell and Granville, and her sister, Minerva. Pauline will be interred with her husband in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston, Texas. The family would appreciate donations in Pauline’s memory be made to a charity of your choice.
