Calais – Peter Francis Windrick, 92, died Saturday, January 3, 2015. Peter was born in London, England May 23, 1922 where he received his education. He worked for the British Post Office Communications Engineering Department for nine years before joining Siemens Bros. of England. In 1952, he was transferred to their branch in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada that later became Associated Electrical Industries. Peter was then reassigned to a subsidiary company in New York in 1962. He served various companies in engineering design management and retired from Vermont Research in 1986. After spending 26 years in West Chesterfield, NH, Peter moved to Baileyville with his wife Jean and their son Ian in 2006 and then to Calais in 2014. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth (Roberts) Windrick and his three sisters, Connie, Marjorie and Doris. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Jean whom he married in England in 1949; a daughter, Sheila Elizabeth Dail and her husband Mark; twin sons, Ian Frank and David Leonard and his wife Suzie; a grandson, Christopher; four granddaughters, Sarah Christie and her husband Garth, Erin Kornu and her husband Kimbell, Megan Wallace and her husband Jacob and Elizabeth Dail; three great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Peter was a member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Calais for nine years where a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
