Philip William Beckett Sr.

Calais – Philip W. Beckett Sr., 82, son of the late Philip N. and Ida Laura (Gherraridini) Beckett, died peacefully at Calais Regional Hospital on April 22, 2009. Mr. Beckett was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carriers Shangri La and Hornet. After being discharged from the Navy, he returned to Calais where he was active in his family’s business and in community affairs for many years. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Lucille; and by his brother Gilbert P. Beckett Sr. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Eva Beckett, his grandsons Paul Beckett, Philip Nathan and his wife Darilyn Beckett, and Andrew and wife Sarah Beckett; sister-in-law Carole Beckett; nephew Gilbert and wife Lisa Beckett; niece Laura and husband David Harvanek; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
