Calais – Philip R. Clark, 52, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 29, 2009. Phil was born in Calais on November 23, 1956, son of the late James Clark Sr. and Mary (Mitchell) Clark. He was employed with the City of Calais, where he maintained the Calais Cemetery. Phil enjoyed fishing, puzzles, going on car rides, holidays and spending time with his family, especially his grandson who was his pride and joy. In addition to his parents, Phil was predeceased by an infant brother. Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Jolene (McDonough) Clark; two children, Tina Sora and her husband Papi of Bangor, and Todd Clark of Calais; his grandson “Papa’s little buddy”, Kenyon Sora; two sisters, Brenda Dempsey of Calais and Kimberly Wilson and her husband Harold of Calais; three brothers, Ralph Clark and his wife Vicki of Mexico, ME, James Clark Jr. and his wife Patti of Calais, and Fred Clark of Calais; two brothers-in-law, Kelly McDonough and his wife Brenda of Alexander, and Joel McDonough of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Karyl Jipson and her husband Brian of Lincoln, and Kay McDonough of Calais; a special niece, Kiana; many other nieces and nephews; and his feline companion, “Stupid”.
