Baileyville – Philip Edward Dow III, 31, passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 27, 2021. Philip was born in Calais on December 9, 1989, son of Philip and Petra (Brownlee) Dow.
Philip graduated from Calais High School, Class of 2009. He went on to earn his C.D.L. after graduating from the truck driving school at Washington County Community College. Philip drove truck for HSP Trucking and enjoyed helping on a family friend’s farm in the Portland area. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars. He had a heart of gold. He loved helping others and making people smile and laugh.
Philip was predeceased by his father Philip Dow Jr.; maternal grandmother Traude Cookson; and a grandnephew Anthony. Surviving are his mother Petra Dow of Baileyville; paternal grandparents Philip Dow Sr. and wife Patricia of Baileyville; maternal grandfather Terry Brownlee and wife Peggy of Calais; his sister Amanda Dow of Baileyville; brother Christopher Dow of Calais; great uncle and great aunt Neil and Dorothy Dow of Alexander; aunts and uncles Lori and Shawn Currie of TN, Paul Dow of Baileyville, Michael and Kadie Dow of Calais, and Frauke Davis of TX; Cousins, Alec, Dylan and Bryson; Best friend Barry chambers ; and numerous other relatives and friends.
