Philip Oswell Reed

Calais – Philip O. Reed, 82, passed away October 16, 2009 at a Bangor Hospital. Philip was born in Milltown on January 15, 1927 to Stanley E. Reed and Inez H. (Lowden). Philip married his wife of 55 years, Harriet (Gomez) in St. Stephen, N.B. in 1954. Some of his many enjoyments in life were bowling, going out for walks and spending time with his family. He retired from both the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant and the United States Post Office, Calais, after serving 20 years with each. Along with his parents Philip was predeceased by a son, Philip T. Reed and a grandson, Marc Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Harriet Reed; a daughter, Caroline Phillips and her husband Nelson of Oak Bay, New Brunswick; 2 brothers, Ralph Reed of Harrisburg, PA and Bernard Reed and his wife Ann of Dover, DE; 6 grandchildren, Angela, Christopher, Philip T., Darrell, Tiffany and Justin; several great grandchildren; 2 Nieces and a nephew.
