Phillip Leroy Clark

Milltown – Phillip Leroy Clark, 65, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016. Phil was born in Calais on August 4, 1950, son of the late Lloyd Howard and Sara Jean (Moffitt) Clark. He attended grammar school in Milltown and graduated from Calais Memorial High School, Class of 1969. Phil then went on to study automotive and welding in the first class of Washington County Vocational Technical Institute. He worked for Georgia-Pacific for over 20 years as a Master Pipefitter, as well as cutting wood and working as a Registered Maine Master Guide. Phil enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and trapping. Special times were spent at the family hunting camp at Howard Mill playing cards with his brothers, nephews, son-in-law Derek “2”, and numerous friends. He always looked forward to visits from his daughter Lisa, son-in-law Derek, and especially his grandchildren, who loved to go Perch fishing with their “Pa”. Phil took pride in growing a large garden and providing vegetables for family and friends while passing his gardening and canning skills onto his daughter Lisa and son-in-law Derek, as well as his hunting skills to his nephews and son-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Darrell Howard Clark; sister Karen Sue (Clark) Howland; and nieces Paula Jean, Tammy Lynn, Sonja Jean, and Emma Marie. Surviving are his daughter Lisa Karen (Clark) Hinman and husband Derek of Clifton Park, NY; grandchildren Morganne Clark, Mitchell Phillip, and Mason William; special friend Barbara Clark of Meddybemps; father-in-law Lawrence Lord of Alexander; brothers Stanley E. Clark, and Arnold A. Clark and wife Sue “Mac”; and sister Linda A. McPhee all of Milltown; aunt Ann (Moffitt) Carson; uncle William “Sonny” Moffitt; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and David Carson of Glenburn, Paula and Kenny Seavey of Crawford, Terry and Lisa Lord of Meddybemps, and Larry and Laura Jean Lord of Meddybemps; nieces and nephews, Gary and Peter Howland, Corey and Bradley McPhee, Joey, John, Arnie, Derek, and Allen Clark, Adam, Jennifer and Jamie Carson, Matt, Megan, Dylan and Logan Lord; many great-nieces and great-nephews; chosen “daughter” Robin Leach and husband Tom of Latham, NY; special “grandchildren” Sean, Conor, and Kailey; and numerous friends.

A celebration of Phil’s life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016 at Calais Seventh-day Adventist Church, 8 Chapel St., Milltown. Burial will be private.
