Baileyville – Phyllis Helen Corbett, 92, went to rest on Thursday, December 29, 2017. Phyllis had written her own obituary and wanted these words written to all who loved her: “Make it short and sweet like me; miss me but not too much. Love you all” Ma, Maw MaPhyllis, Nannie Corbett, My Phyllis.
Phyllis was born in Brunswick on January 30, 1925, daughter of Donald and Helen (Ingersoll) Gillmor. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Corbett; sons Paul Corbett Sr. and Michael Corbett; daughter Susan James; grandchildren Paul Corbett Jr., Betty Corbett and Scott James; great-grandson Gordie Corbett; sister Edna Yates; brother Charles Gillmor; and sons-in-law Alvin James and Richard Bennett.
Surviving are three children, Carolyn Bennett of Hampden, Lloyd Corbett and wife Gloria of Baileyville, and Brenda Corbett of Bangor; a sister Edith Sprague of Grand Lake Stream, a brother Edward Gillmor of Howland, a sister-in-law Cathy Gillmor of Lincoln, daughter-in-law Carla Corbett of Baileyville; grandchildren Cathy, Marcia, Kimberly, Steven, Mark, Darren, Karen, Dawn and a very special friend, caretaker and granddaughter, Angela (Corbett) Olsson and husband Mark; great-grandchildren, Richie, Chad, Stacy, Stephanie, Tiffany, Jewels, Gloria, Loreli, Brittney, Nick, Danielle, Samantha, Carly Ann, Christopher, Nathan, Devon, Andrew, Ben, Matthew, Megan, Nick, Chad, Kaitlin, Jessica, Kristina, Robbie, Shauna and Nicole; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Cody, Riley, Lyra, Tyler, Mia, Elliott, Aalyaih, Rylan, and Lucas, Hunter and Claire and their Nanny CC Christina True; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Phyllis’ Life will be celebrated 2 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Burial will be held in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery, Plantation 21.
