Calais – Phyllis Mae Marrs, 75, died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at a Calais hospital. Phyllis was born in Calais on February 5, 1933. She was a member of the Sherman Brothers Unit 3, American Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed going for car rides with her dog. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her sister, Thelma Perkins. Surviving are her two sons, Philip Marrs and his wife Elizabeth of Old Town, and Gary Marrs of Calais; five grandchildren, Philip Marrs II of TN, Krista Ouellette and her husband Joseph of Belmont, NH, Amanda Tirrell and her husband Rod of Calais, Roman Hall of Calais, and Alena Hall of St. Stephen, N.B.; five great-grandchildren, Faith and Thomas Tirrell, Cameron Ouellette, and Nikita and Jackyra Hall; a sister-in-law, Barbara Day and her husband Edward of Meriden, CT; two nephews, Robert Day of Calais and David Day of Meriden, CT; her faithful canine companion, Buttercup; along with many feline companions.
