Pleasant Point – Phyllis A. Sapiel, 56, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Phyllis was born in Calais on November 11, 1962, daughter of Francis “Red” and Mary (Nicholas) Sapiel.
After graduating from Shead Memorial High School, Phyllis worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. She was proud of her Passamaquoddy heritage and being a Passamaquoddy Dancer. Phyllis enjoyed riding her Harley, playing pool, and spending time with her family and friends. Her most cherished moments were those spent with her two sons, Shane and Brad, whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by a son, Shane Sapiel; and several siblings. Surviving are her son Brad Sapiel and his companion Rhonda Kierstead of Pleasant Point; two grandchildren, Majesta and Logan; two brothers, James Sapiel and wife Theresa, and Joe Sapiel; her sister Clarice Sapiel; many nieces and nephews; best friends, April Kirkland and Wendy Lovely Colavecchio; and numerous Harley friends.
Visitation will begin 12 noon Monday, September 30, 2019 on Bayview Circle, Pleasant Point, next door to the Elder Meal Site, until 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 2. In keeping with Phyllis’ wishes, there will be no service. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
