Perry – Priscilla A. Patterson, 73, passed away at her home on February 21, 2018. Priscilla was born on April 1, 1944 to Shannon and Eva (Spear) Cushman in Thomaston. In February of 1965 she married Sheldon A. Patterson with whom she traveled the country for both work and pleasure. She was a secretary for many years in the sardine factories that Sheldon managed, a profession that took them as far away as Jamaica.
They eventually moved back downeast and purchased The New Friendly Restaurant in 1987. Priscilla ran the restaurant until her retirement in 2001, but she continued to make the pie crusts and meet there for Sunday lunches with Millie, Ann and Esther. She was a devoted member of the Perry Bible Fellowship Church and was a wonderful cook who blessed so many with her baking. Priscilla was secure in her beliefs, she loved sharing her opinion or reminiscing about days gone by. She traveled, she laughed, she loved, but most important to her, was family. Her granddaughters were her biggest fans, and she was theirs.
In addition to her father, Priscilla was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon; her daughter, Melinda and two brothers, Lee and Richie. She will be fondly remembered by her mother, Eva; son Robert and his wife Jennifer; granddaughters, Megan and Vanessa; four sisters, Arlene and her partner Ray, Janice and her husband Rudy, Deborah and her partner Bill and Belinda and her husband Alvin; step daughter, Sally and her daughter, Stacey; many nieces and nephews and friends in both Perry and Port Clyde.
A memorial service will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 26th at Perry Bible Fellowship Church with Pastor E. Paul Emery officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Brewer Cemetery in Robbinston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perry Bible Fellowship Church, 1292 US Route 1, Perry, ME 04667. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
