Obituary for Raymond Johnson LaCoote

Indian Township – Raymond Johnson LaCoote, 60, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 15, 2014. Ray was born in Indian Township on February 15, 1954. After graduating high school, he started working in the woods. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, card tricks, playing the guitar, and being around his friends.

Ray was predeceased by his mother Mary LaCoote; and a sister Mabel LaCoote. Surviving are his four children, Alicia LaCoote, Diane Neptune and husband Horace of Pleasant Point, Jonathan Clement of Pleasant Point, and Theresa Clement of Pleasant Point; 10 grandchildren, including Jonathan, Alexsis, Horace III, Noah, Xavier Ray, and Mallory; sister Zelda LaCoote of Bradford; three brothers, Frank LaCoote of Indian Township, Joey LaCoote of Indian Township, and Clifford LaCoote of Bangor; special nieces Tammy Francis and husband Melvin, and Frances Socabasin and husband Richard, of Pleasant Point; special companion Annabelle Bassett; best friend Deano LaCoote; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visiting hours will begin 1 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his home on 6 Beech Circle, Indian Township, until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Rob Lupo 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at St. Ann Parish, Peter Dana Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
