Indian Township – Raynard Gordon Levesque Sr., 53, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 1, 2015. Raynard was born in Calais on May 30, 1962, son of Leonard and Dianne (Sockabasin) Levesque. He attended Woodland High School and worked in home construction and in the woods. Most recently Raynard was working for Indian Township Housing Authority where he served as a groundskeeper for the elderly residents of Indian Township. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing.
Raynard was predeceased by his father, Leonard Levesque; step-father Gordon Campbell; and a nephew, Miguel Campbell. Surviving are his mother Dianne Campbell of Indian Township; his companion Rachel Williams; two children, Shauna Cataldo of Portland and Raynard Levesque Jr. of Indian Township; three nephews who he considered his own sons, Brian, Devon, and Vern Levesque; grandchildren, Leland Cataldo, Laura Socobasin, and Kisuhs Stevens; three brothers, Leonard Levesque, Gerard Levesque, and Clay Levesque and wife Debbie, all of Indian Township; seven sisters, Dinah Levesque of Bangor, Nina Levesque, Glenna Nicholas and husband David, Adelina Coffin and husband Darrin, Lucy Nicholas and husband William, Jennifer Socobasin and husband Joseph, and Roseanne Richey and husband Michael, all of Indian Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will begin 2 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2015 at his sister Glenna’s home, 5 Oak Circle, Peter Dana Point, until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Kevin Martin 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point. Burial will follow in the Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
