Robbinston – Reid Howard Johnson, 78, died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at a Calais hospital. Reid was born in Robbinston, January 18, 1928, son of the late Oscar H. and Hattie A. (Lyons) Johnson. He was employed by the Maine Department of Transportation as a driver. Reid also owned and operated Beaver’s Tree Farm in Robbinston for many years. He was a member Crescent Lodge #78 A.F. & A.M. in Pembroke, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Reid was predeceased by his wife, Bertha (Clark) Johnson. Surviving are his children, William Johnson and wife Sandra, Richard Johnson and wife Winnie, and Gerald Johnson and wife Penny, all of Robbinston; a sister, Helen Long of Silver Springs, MD; a brother, Glen Johnson of Robbinston; six grandchildren, Scott, Billie Jo, Travis, Ryan, Kyle, and Jason; four great-grandchildren, Juan, Julio, Chynna, and Walter; three nephews, Mark, Zane, and Ronald; a niece, Nancy; and a special friend, Warren Moholland. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, March 19, at Brewer Cemetery in Robbinston with Pastor Rolfe Flood officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Reid’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais.
