Bangor and Pleasant Point – Rhonda Ann Francis, 54, passed away with family by her side on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. Rhonda was born in Eastport on September 23, 1966, daughter of Rick Emery and Valerie Altvater.
Rhonda attended Shead Memorial High School and continued her education by taking courses at the University of Maine Orono and earning her CNA Certification. She had profound love for horses, flowers and being in nature. Family meant the world to Rhonda and she would do anything for her children. She will be fondly remembered for being a free spirit, having a heart of gold, and for her kindness and compassion to others.
Rhonda was predeceased by her father Rick Emery; grandmother Rita Altvater; and two siblings, Victoria Altvater and Charles “Chick” Emery. Surviving are her mother Valerie Altvater of Baintree, MA; her two children, Oceanna Perry and companion Christopher Graham of Eastport, and Seanna Albert of Bangor; two grandchildren, Malachi Graham and Landyn Grimes and his father Raymond Grimes; her sister Kelly Altvater of Indian Township; and numerous special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, cousins and dear friends. Thomas N. Tureen was a very close friend of the family that she loved very much. Her uncle Chris had the honor of being called her dad and her aunts were also her mothers.
Visitation will be held at 99 Indian Rd, Pleasant Point, beginning 10 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021 until 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021. A graveside service will be held at Tahu Cemetery, Pleasant Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
